Polio New Zealand’s vision is that all people who have survived polio in New Zealand have affordable access to appropriate health care and the support required to maintain independence and make informed life choices. They do this by providing resources and information to Polio survivors and supporting clinics that specialise in helping those with Late Effects of Polio. They also provide a community that meets regularly and can put you in touch with other survivors.
They have two clinics in the South Island, one in Blenheim called Well & Good, and one in Christchurch called On the Go Physio in Christchurch. Both offer a wide variety of services.
Polio NZ also offers funding for those with Polio or Late Effects of Polio, called the Duncan fund. There is a list of the eligibility criteria to qualify on their website.
