CCS Disability Action is the largest pan-disability support and advocacy organisation in Aotearoa New Zealand. Their vision is to see every disabled person included in the life of their family and community. As well as providing direct support and advocacy, they have a wider role in shaping society’s attitudes towards people with a disability. Their services include:
Mobility Parking: You can apply for or renew your mobility parking permit through their website. They can help you with completing the application form if needed.
BarrierFree: BarrierFree works to help public and private clients create buildings, spaces and transport networks that are accessible and welcoming to all.
Community Development: They make information and resources on disability and the disability sector available to the community. They run a library all about disability that you can borrow from from anywhere in New Zealand.
Choice In Community Living: This programme supports people with disabilities to live in the community and home of their choosing. If you are living in residential care, they will provide the supports you require to move into your own home and connect with your local neighbourhood.
Supported Living Services: If you are aged between 16 and 65 their Supported Living Services can be tailored to your support needs and goals, such as moving out of home or finding people to work with you in your home or community.
Holiday Homes: They own and manage accessible holiday homes in the South Island that are available to rent.
