The Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust provide a full continuum of integrated services when and where they are needed. They are are the only providers like this in the South Island. With a team made up of 220 specialised staff, their interdisciplinary team includes speech language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, neuropsychologists, dietitians and social workers who work together to provide an integrated approach to rehabilitation and recovery. LFBIT's community rehabilitation team provide a range of services in clients’ own homes and communities. These involve both physical and psychological areas of rehabilitation, and are mainly funded through ACC, insurance agencies or private agreements.
Whether your needs have been brought about by injury or age and stage, they here to support you. With specialist assessments and modifications for mobility and living all designed to help you to achieve independence and quality of life.
At Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust, we facilitate a number of helpful group programmes. The groups are run by a range of therapists and operate on a rolling timetable throughout the year.
Current group programmes include, making the most of your memory, cooking group, family/whānau education and support, physical health and information training, improving communication confidence and competence, brain injury education for children, and our mindfulness group.
