Education and Professional Development

MHERC’s education is designed to enhance knowledge, understanding and attitudes from a researched evidence and strengths-based perspective. Their engaging facilitators are experts in their fields and provide participants with practical skills and tools.

  • Their friendly staff can assist you in finding appropriate information and services to meet your needs.
  • Their website has information on mental illness, addictions, support, helplines and where to start if you are seeking help for yourself or others.
  • A Canterbury Mental Health Directory is available on our website to help you find services and organisations to meet your needs. You can search key words or browse the categorised listings. Hard copies of the Directory can also be purchased from our office.
  • MHERC’s onsite library hosts a large collection of books, DVDs, CDs, fact sheets and brochures on a wide range of topics such as specific mental illnesses, child and adolescent wellbeing, addiction, gambling, stress, sleep, communication, relationships and much more. We invite you to visit our library or you can start by browsing our resources online here.
  • Addtionally,  eLibrary offers free access to eBooks and audiobooks anywhere, anytime from your device. Become a member, then download the free ePlatform app and search “MHERC” to browse and borrow from our collection.
