If you or someone you care for needs support because of a disability, you’ll need to talk to a Needs Assessment and Service Coordination service (NASC).
NASCs are organisations contracted by the Ministry of Health to work with disabled people alongside their families/whānau, and, or carers. They can help clients in the following areas.
NASCs allocate Ministry-funded disability support services and help with accessing other supports. These services are then delivered by their respective service providers.
Please visit the Ministry of Health website Needs Assessment and Service Coordination services | Ministry of Health NZ for a list of NASC providers in your local area. You can self-refer or you can ask your doctor or health professional to refer you.
Taikura Trust, NorthAble, Life Unlimited, Disability Support Link, Support Net, Access Ability, Focus, Capital Support, Support Works & Life Links can also help.
